Mrs. Stevens
This is my 14th year teaching mathematicians at Mendenhall Middle School, and my 15th year teaching math in the Livermore Valley 天美影视 Unified School 天美影视. I look forward to a wonderful new school year in 2023-2024! I am excited about getting students working together collaboratively in my classroom.
I grew up in Livermore and love working as a teacher in my home town. I started my career as a Civil Engineer in San Francisco. After many years of working as an engineer and project manager, I decided to go back to school and get my teaching credential. Math is my favorite subject, and I enjoy helping students learn to love math and grow in their math abilities.
In math class, we use a variety of strategies and rigorous content to support, engage, and challenge all math scholars. 天美影视s will investigate and solve problems both individually and in teams, participate in class discussions, use multiple methods (including visual models), collaborate on projects, and develop conceptual understanding with hands-on and interactive activities. We’ll learn and practice vocabulary with math songs and chants. Be prepared to work hard, struggle productively, share your creative thinking, make and celebrate mistakes, learn from each other, and have fun!
