Mrs. Porter

Welcome to the 2019-2020 School Year at Livermore High School!

This will mark my 6th year teaching in the Agriculture Department at Livermore High School. I am very excited to be watching the students I started with 4 years ago enter their final year of their high school experience. I am also looking forward to working with Mr. McNealy and Ms. Calestini to make this a memorable year for our Agriculture Department!

This year I will be teaching Agriculture Soils Chemistry as well as AIS. AIS is a new course for me to be teaching but I cannot wait to delve into the advanced science of agriculture. I am beyond excited to be able to teach this course and engage my students to think on their own about agriculture and how it shapes our society. Of course Soils Chemistry is a favorite class of mine and students will begin to understand how the chemical balance of the soil dictates what can be grown as well as how well it will grow. They will learn how to balance chemical equations while getting their hands a bit dirty learning how to test the pH levels of the soil.

I will also be coaching the Livestock Judging Team, working with our officer team and preparing our public speakers. We have a great group of students and FFA members and, as a staff, we will push them to try new things and try new experiences.

My family keeps me busy during my off time. My husband and two children, Ashley and Joe, and I raise cattle and sheep. And when I am not on campus, my sister and I own and operate All Pro Mortgage in Livermore.  You could say I like to keep busy!

I am looking forward to another great year! Please feel free to contact me at any time with questions or concerns.
