Miss Boster

I was born in Columbus, Ohio, and grew up in Pleasanton! I’m currently the ukulele, band, orchestra, and choir director here at East Avenue. I’ve been with the district since 2000, and over the years have taught everything from elementary all the way up through high school.

I hold a B.A. with Honors in Music Education from California State University, Fresno. While a member of the CSU, Fresno Wind Ensemble, I performed at the famed Carnegie Hall in New York City.

The mind is a powerful thing, and I strive to teach students that attitude is everything--it can help you to accomplish major things, or be the biggest obstacle in your progress. One of my favorite quotes, usually attributed to Henry Ford, is “Whether you think you can, or you think you can't--you're right.”

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy cooking, photography, and maintain an active performing schedule. I've played with groups such as Tri-Valley Theatre Company, Livermore Valley Opera, Alameda Civic Light Opera, Berkeley Playhouse, Douglas Morrison Theater in Hayward, the Contra Costa Chamber Orchestra, the Pleasanton Community Concert Band, and the Hayward Municipal Band. I've shared the stage with such acts as Chris Vadala (of the Chuck Mangione Band), Judy Collins, the Indigo Girls, BJ Thomas, Matthew Morrison, Vanessa Williams, Ben Folds, and Jason Alexander.

Currently, I'm a member of the , serve as Concertmaster of the , and perform with , a clarinet ensemble out of Pleasant Hill. Clarinet Fusion was honored to be selected to perform at the 's annual ClarinetFest in 2022.
